Kumeu Rugby Junior Leadership Programme: Empowering Our Young Leaders
At Kumeu Rugby, we believe that developing leadership skills is just as important as developing rugby skills. We are excited to announce the second year of the Kumeu Rugby Junior Leadership Programme for our Year 7 and 8 players!
This highly successful programme is designed to empower our young players, build their confidence, and provide them with valuable tools they can use both on and off the field.A Pioneering Partnership with the Blues Charitable Trust
The programme is delivered in partnership with the Auckland Blues Charitable Trust (BCT), a registered youth development trust. The BCT runs this programme in over 40 High Schools, and Kumeu is proud to be the FIRST CLUB in Auckland to pioneer this initiative in Community Rugby. What is Involved?
We are looking for young leaders to stay involved throughout the season to reinforce their learning and provide opportunities to demonstrate their leadership.
-
Blues Leadership Development Day: This one-off event will be held on-site at Blues HQ on Monday, 13th April. The day includes a structured, age-appropriate leadership session delivered by the BCT, and participants will have the opportunity to watch the Auckland Blues train and potentially participate in a Q&A panel with some of the players.
-
Monthly Sharing/Learning Sessions: Participants will attend monthly sessions at the club to reinforce their learning and share how they are applying their leadership skills.
-
Support Club Activity: Leaders will support various club activities throughout the season, such including club days and prizegivings.
-
Role Modelling: This senior-junior cohort will be asked to use their developing leadership skills to engage and inspire other teams within the club.
